Theme: "17 Female Entrepreneurs Learn Leadership and Business Skills from Peer-to-Peer Training" I had a very valuable opportunity to participate in the above training as one of 17 female entrepreneurs (Good Shepherd Service Co., Ltd.). ―― 〈The following is an excerpt from the article〉 Procter & Gamble Japan K.K. (hereinafter referred to as "P&G Japan", Headquarters: Kobe, Japan) is pleased to announce that WE Connect International (Headquarters: Washington, D.C., U.S.A.), TBWA Co., Ltd. In collaboration with HAKUHODO (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo), we held the Women Entrepreneurs Development Program (WEDP), a female entrepreneurship development program for female entrepreneurs, online from September 24 to October 6, 2020. WEDP is a training program that aims to contribute to the business development of female entrepreneurs. So far, it has been implemented in Singapore, Indonesia, Mexico, Brazil, South Africa, and other parts of the world. P&G Japan considers diversity and inclusion to be an essential part of its management strategy, and believes that diverse corporate and business leaders are essential for the promotion of innovation and the development of Japan society. In Japan society, women entrepreneurs are still not getting enough opportunities. This year's event in Japan will consist of a curriculum that strengthens the skills necessary for business success, including training to demonstrate leadership that is considered to be outside the scope of P&G, marketing communications, how to formulate business plans, and promotion of diversity and inclusion. We wanted to support female entrepreneurs in entering the business and growing their businesses.

The Chunichi Shimbun introduced the efforts of GSS Language & Arts School, such as English after-school care.
Theme: "English After-School Childcare in Fuji" In the above special feature, Good Shepherd Service Co., Ltd.'s business, such as after-school childcare and preschool in English, as well as the representative's thoughts and the history of the opening of the school were introduced. 〈The following is an excerpt from the article〉 There are private educational facilities where Filipino teaching qualifications and married Japan women engage in after-school care and preschools (equivalent to kindergartens and nursery schools) in English. The GSS Language & Arts School has been relocated and expanded in Fuji City. Believing that primary education has a significant impact on children's lives, they offer a variety of programs such as dance and music as well as English conversation. (Tomoko Maeda) A place where local parents and children gather Women from the Philippines bout The opening ceremony was held on July 13. In the parking lot, which was colorfully decorated with balloons and flowers, representative Watanabe Riwaiwai Misajon (49) greeted the children in English, saying, "GSS wants to bring out the maximum potential of children, and we will do our best," and when the eldest daughter Clarisuan (23) translated it into Japanese, it was applauded. After that, Filipino teachers performed dances and songs. Japan parents and children considering enrollment also took a rhythm together. Preschool and after-school care are provided by about six qualified Filipino teachers, including part-time teachers. There is also a Japan teacher who watches the school's homework. The educational policy is to incorporate "Montessori education" that originated in Italy, which was received by shogi player Sota Fujii 7th dan in childhood and has been attracting attention in recent years. Ms. Watanabe, a devout Christian, noted that wives from the Philippines who attend the same church are unable to make use of their teaching qualifications in their home countries. Sixteen years after receiving him as a teacher, he opened the predecessor language school. Originally from the Philippines, Watanabe married her husband, a Japan engineer, and came to Japan in 2003. In her home country, she worked on the front lines, engaging in the real estate industry and starting a business, but after giving birth, she devoted herself to being a housewife for a while. I decided to go back to work when my friends asked me to teach English while I was still in kindergarten. He grew up near the Smoky Mountains, a slum in Manila, and struggled to study in poverty to go to university. I realize that early education is life-changing. "Parents can guide their children in a good direction," he said, adding that he wants GSS to be "a place for adults in the community to gather." There will also be a café on the first floor so that parents can talk about their worries during their children's classes. These educational programs have attracted attention, and companies that are trying to launch schoolchildren in the Tokyo and Chukyo areas, as well as companies that run English conversation schools overseas and are planning to expand into Japan, have offered to enter into partnerships one after another. However, we insisted on opening a business in Fuji first. "Our starting point is Fuji City, and we want to give back the support we have received here and make this place a platform for multicultural coexistence," he says.

The Tokyo Shimbun introduced the activities of GSS Language & Arts School, such as English after-school childcare.
Theme: "Multicultural Coexistence from Fuji" In the above special feature, Good Shepherd Service Co., Ltd.'s business, such as after-school childcare and preschool in English, as well as the representative's thoughts and the history of the opening of the school were introduced. ―― 〈The following is an excerpt from the article〉 The GSS Language & Arts School, which provides after-school childcare and preschools (equivalent to kindergartens and nursery schools) in English, which is rare in the prefecture, has been relocated and expanded to open in Fuji City. Many of the instructors are women who have teaching qualifications in the Philippines and are married to Japan, and they share the skills they acquired in their home countries with Japan children. In addition to English conversation, we explore children's potential through various programs such as dance and music. It can be said that it is a practical example of multicultural coexistence that we face. (Tomoko Maeda) Establishment of after-school childcare in English The opening ceremony was held on July 13. The Shizuoka Shimbun introduced the grand opening of Good Shepherd Service Co., Ltd.'s "GSS Language & Arts School" and "THRIVE Café".
[2019.07.15 Introduced in Shizuoka Shimbun. 】 Theme: Local "Teaching in English, After-School Childcare: Women from the Philippines in Fuji" In the above special feature, Good Shepherd Service Co., Ltd.'s businesses such as after-school childcare and preschool care in English were introduced. ―― 〈The following is an excerpt from the article〉 On the 13th, Ms. Misa Watanabe, a native of the Philippines who has been running English conversation classes in Fuji City, opened the GSS Language & Arts School, which develops private after-school childcare and preschool for preschool children who teach children in English, in the former restaurant of Miyuki-cho, the same city. At the commemorative ceremony on the same day, Mr. Watanabe and others cut the ribbon to celebrate the opening. Preschool and after-school childcare workshops were also held, and many Filipinos and Japan visited the museum. Mr. Watanabe expressed his enthusiasm, saying, "I want to provide education that maximizes children's abilities and potential, and I hope that it will lead to the excitement of Fuji." Watanabe opened an English class in the city in 2016 and has been working not only to teach English to Japan, but also to train Filipino English teachers so that they can make use of their skills. With the number of dual-income families increasing, we were concerned about the situation where children's education was not being provided, which led to the opening of this school. The school is based on language and works on arts and emotional education. In after-school care, English teachers use English to teach regardless of nationality, but for the first hour, staff who are qualified as Japanese teachers help children with homework for children who do not understand Japanese sufficiently. The café that serves specialty coffee will be a place where parents who are worried about education can casually interact with each other, and where junior high and high school students can study and consult after school.

"The Philippines, a country near and far"
We held a cross-cultural lecture at the Hakinan Town Hall!
More than a year ago, GSS Owner, Ms. Lyn Watanabe was invited to make a speech in Kannami about the Philippines and her advocacy in starting an English Conversation/Montessori School. She has a strong belief that while teaching English, we could also open the hearts of the Japanese students to the Gospel.
